These super rare birds are a must-have for any helmet collector. They're hard as hell to find in Romania, much more so here in the U.S.!
These were an adaptation of the M73 steel helmet, which was downsized and fitted with a padded liner/earflap system specifically for paratroopers. They didn't make a lot of these, so I never know when I'll be able to get a SMALL batch like this.
These are still being used today for training jumps with NATO forces, which is pretty interesting as you can see in the second picture.
These are all in used condition, and this batch has a bit of a musty/storage smell, or as I call it, a "surplus" smell. They all seem to be in well-used shape and most have the original nets on them. The nets are hard to find in good shape as well, and you'll see why when you get yours (not really made the best). Expect surface rust and stiff leather in the liners and on the shells. Anyway, these won't last long, and I haven't been able to find any for over 3 years, so I wouldn't wait on these!
These fit usually between a 55 and 59CM melon.
