As the title states, this is an insanely excellent replica of the VERY rare 2nd style "Low Pressure" liner that was made for a VERY short period of time between the early "Fiber Liner" and the more common "High Pressure" liners you're probably familiar with. How's that for a run-on sentence?
This liner was used from early 1943 through the end of the war, so if you're looking for that very early non D-Day helmet liner, this is the best option money can buy. Other replicas have been made from surplus Vietnam Era low pressure liners, which are about 2 1/2 times thicker than they should be, resulting in a sizing issue. These fit in a "clip" in to fix bail helmets exactly like the original.
These are made from a surplus M1 clone ABS helmet liner (Not the cheap Chinese junk), and are almost indistinguishable dimensionally from an original LP liner. The same thickness and weight, but with some added strength, and most of all, water resistance. These liner shells are meticulously painted exactly how originals were, and stamped with "SC" for St. Clair rubber company, one of the two manufacturers of this style of liner.
The webbing was done by the best of the best in the M1 restoration business, and features Rayon webbing with correct early Square/Rectangle washers. This liner also features cotton canvas "A" Yokes and leather Airborne Chin-Cup. Early sweatband also included.
A LOT of meticulous time and sourcing goes in to the process of getting these made, and I guarantee you won't find anything of this quality and this close to an original anywhere else in the world. SUPER limited run on these, and once they're done, I'm not sure I'll be getting them made ever again.
