Hands down my all-time favorite rucksack. This is the style I used in Basic Training, and fell in love with it, which is why I own one and use it whenever camping is a thing. Anyway, I managed to find a small stash of these ever-increasingly hard to get USGI ALICE packs with USGI frames. The straps and kidney pads are I believe aftermarket, but appear to be made to spec/well. If you want surplus straps and pads, they're really easy to find online, and not that pricey.
The frames are what really makes these hard to find, as the frames ALONE retail for $100 (Thanks a lot, ghostbusters)...These rucks and frames are all in used but serviceable condition. Expect fading, wear, writing, and other "personalization" on these, but don't expect to get a destroyed piece of crap either. Most don't seem to come with the waist-strap, but again, those aren't that hard to track down.
These rucks are capable of holding a significant amount of weight/gear, all the while being pretty balanced and comfortable. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get more of these, but if this first batch sells, I'll contact my source and see if they've got any more. These are some of the most durable, long lasting, and versatile rucksacks on the planet in my opinion, and are worth every dollar.
