Lately, helmets have been getting harder and harder to find, so when I get the opportunity to snag some VERY cool and harder to find helmets, you better bet I jump on it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese were used by the Belgian military from 1951 until the late 1990s, and were pretty obviously patterned after the U.S. M1, as most Western European countries adopted during the Cold War. Euro-Clone shells differed in shape slightly, being more \"flared\" at the rim, but still retained the same overall functionality and appearance as an M1. These were used in the Congo, and many other places Belgian Forces were present in during the Cold War. What makes these so cool is that they have the original Belgian flag stickers\/decals on the bottom left side of the helmet, which is what set these apart from their fellow Euro Clones. A subtle, but very cool detail.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhat to expect: Most of these are still in the original wrapping paper, and are unissued, but there's about 25% that are out of the wrap and have storage marks. Liner styles varied because these were used so long, so some have a more gray webbing, while most have Olive Green. Basically here's what your helmet will have: A shell painted green (some smooth, some textured) with a Belgian flag decal or sticker on the left side. A correct plastic liner with an adjustable Riddel style webbing system and leather liner chinstrap that's either brown or black with buckle. A shell chinstrap that's made of canvas.
