Out of all of my years collecting helmets, I have never seen these in the U.S from a retailer. These are rare helmets, as most were either sold to struggling African countries in the 1980s or were re-worked to the M75 configuration.
Patterned after the U.S M1 helmet, early M58 helmets had U.S liners in them! They also had a rear-seam on the rim just like U.S Helmets from the 1950s onward. These were the first models which were all Austrian made.
Shells will be dated pre-1975, and liners are all in used but surprisingly good condition. I only have a few of these available, and can not guarantee any more will ever be stocked.
If you are a helmet collector, or know someone who is, this is a must-have for collectors.
Condition: These will all be in used but good condition. Expect slight corrosion on metal pieces and wear attributed to years of use in the Bundesheer. GRADE 2 helmets will have parts missing, or have cracks in the liner. They will still be 100% functional but incomplete/damaged.
