iraqi-m80-03-composite-helmet-5
Iraqi M80/03 Composite Helmet. #5

I just snagged a small batch of these super collectible Iraqi M80/03 helmets, and now you can finally have one in your collection. These were brought back by an OIF Veteran around 2004/2005, and this is the last of the ones he brought back. These were the helmets that were made in a hurry around 2003, just before the U.S. Invasion. They were very similar to the M80 helmets, but were made much more cheaply, using compressed fiberglass or "corlon", and a very rough cotton webbing for the liners. This style helmet was worn through 2006 by Iraqi Army soldiers fighting along coalition forces until it was replaced by surplus U.S. PASGT helmets.

The actual helmet you're buying is in the photo. Like most, if not all of these, it's in rough used shape, nevertheless has all of the components, which is a big plus as most you'll find don't have the liners. These liners all have issues ranging from Rust, broken/missing mounting brackets, and tears in the fabric/leather sweatband. That being said, all of these were bring-backs, so this is a very cool piece of Military History akin to what WW2 German helmets were to those who brought them back after WW2. These are not getting any easier to find, so use this opportunity to put one in your collection today.
