This has to be one of the weirdest surplus items out there, but nonetheless it is surplus. Designed to be worn on the helmet, these are made of heavy duty cotton. Used from Pre-WW2 days until just a few years ago. These are designed to allow netting for application of camouflage, and to break up the silhouette of the helmet while providing shade and warmth. Although optimized for the M37 helmet, these will work alright on similar shaped helmets. A nice, affordable and practical item.
