This is the "improved" version of the original F1 grenade, and featured a more safe fuse system. These were used from 1916 all the way through to WW2 by French forces and MANY others including the Romanian military. These are painted in green with a red band (Red iwas the color indicating High Explosive in the Romanian military, sort of like how Yellow is HE in the U.S. Military. This style of grenade and fuse was used throughout WW2 and in to the Cold War Years.
Absolutely excellent cast resin replicas that are perfect for living history and reenacting, or just to have one on display without having to pay hundreds for an original inert one.
