This is something I've been working on for a while and am VERY excited to finally carry.
These replica M24 German Stick Grenades are the result of trying MANY different manufacturers and only finding ONE that would be willing to make them anywhere close to the originals. The result is awesome, and I'm so happy with them, I'm keeping several for myself.
These feature metal heads and hardware, and a very nice un-finished wooden handle, just like the originals. The heads are stamped with a large black "K" for "Kalt"(cold) which meant these were suitable for use in cold climates as well as warm. These started showing up in about 1940/41 and were made through the rest of the war. The maker stamp followed by the month and year follow, and were copied off original examples, down to the font and stamping style, which is random and no two are alike completely.
To keep it accurate and fun, I have 3 different month dates for 1943, and I will choose at random so you get a variety. If you MUST have the same date on all of yours, let me know and I'll try to accommodate, but no guarantees I'll have enough. Handles are stamped with the handle maker and year, and the top of the head is stamped with the manufacture stamp. The bottom cap unscrews to reveal a pull cord with ceramic ball, just like an original.
Now. How mine are different than all of the other ones that pop up on the market from time to time: The handle shape is the biggest thing. Others make the handles too wide on the tops, and it's too wide for too long. We used many different original examples to come up with this shape, and it's spot on.
Other grenades also have a coat of polyurethane on them for whatever reason, and mine don't, just like originals. this means if you want to add grime and grease, or stain them a particular color for aging, you can, but they come as they would have arrived at the front in their original crates. Some of the handles have a yellow-ish hue to them, but that's just from the wood itself, not any chemicals or anything added to it. The markings are also copied from original examples.
These are 100% inert, and can NOT be made live in any way, in accordance with BATFE regulations, and are only toys/replicas.
