I know, I know, I usually say "WW2 STUFF ISN'T SURPLUS ANYMORE!". Sometimes it's good to be proven wrong. These are legitimate WW2 manufacture U.S. .30 Caliber ammo cans that once held 250 round belts of M1 Ball ammo for machine guns. These particular ones were re-used by the Italian military during the Cold War for their durability, design, and the fact that there were tons of them leftover from the brutal campaign in WW2.
These had Italian labels on them, but I have removed them, so there might be some slight adhesive residue on some of these, but you can remove it with fingernail polish remover if you see fit. Pictures show an average can from the stock I receive. These are some of the most desirable ammo cans, being a very nice size, and the fact that they were used for so many purposes over the years, that they've become rather hard to find in original shape without having been painted some weird color, or destroyed.
NOTES: These are all used, so expect some surface rust, different paint colors (all seem to be original paint but different shades and such, some have re-paint layers on them), scratches, small dings and dents and other minor flaws associated with decades of military use. That being said, you won't get a rusted out, un-useable piece of crap. Rubber gaskets for the most part still seem to be functional. Will be marked M1 or M2.
These are a must-have for any collector, reenactor, or anyone who wants a very nice functional piece of history.
My source doesn't have many of these left, and once they're gone, they're gone....
