One cool thing about doing what I do, is that I get to bring parts of history back to life with military items. This British Air Raid Warden painted helmet is something I had a lot of fun researching and creating using original fonts and sizes of markings used in Britain during WW2.
These are original WW2 stamped/dated British MKII Helmets that were sent to Pakistan and were used by Pakistani forces from just after WW2 well in to the 1990s in some capacities. These shells have been restored and painted by me, and had high quality liners and chin straps placed in them.
These are PERFECT for reenacting and collectors alike. The supply of these is EXTREMELY low, and I won't have them for much longer. Liner size 7 3/4.
NOTES: Since these are all original shells that were used for decades, these aren't perfect. I chose these for homefront displays/impressions because they had more issues than the regular MKII Combat Helmets I sell. Original British Civil Defense helmets were often times factory "seconds" (marked with two to three holes in the rear brim) or were helmets that were in rough shape and adapted for homefront service. These are legitimate shells, but have been restored as best as possible, and will show signs of pretty significant pitting below the paint. That being said, it's mostly on the inside, and if you're getting one of these for display, it's not an issue. It does not affect functionality at all.
Anyway, I don't think the British home front (or any home front) for that matter gets enough attention, even though it's very relevant to WW2 history in Europe.
