For years I've been trying to find the perfect mix of colors to come up with the Italian M33 helmet finish that very few people seem to be able to get right. Well, I've finally done it.
This helmet started off as a WW2/1950s Italian M33, and was in 1950s configuration when I got it. It still retained some WW2 featured like the rectangular chinstrap bales, do I decided to put it back in to the configuration it would have been as issued in WW2 and before.
What I did: Removed leather from liner, painted inside and outside of shell, replaced leather, added museum quality Italian made leather chinstrap. This sounds like a very simple process, but it is very time consuming and expensive. I believe it is all worth it to preserve this VERY underrated and often overlooked piece of WW2 history. I matched the color of my original WW2 M33 to my special blend of colors to come up with an almost exact match, which arguably took the longest. Added M33 net, probably post-war but they made these exactly the same for 50 years.
Anyway, actual helmet is pictured, I won't be doing many of these as they are so labor intensive, so if you have been wanting one, now's the time.
