Don't forget these...

This is something that you probably won't find anywhere else, but is absolutely necessary for any Romanian impression from 1940-1942.

The Romanian military had been known for wearing the "Capelă" that we usually associate with Romanian troops, with the visor and fold-down neck flap. In 1940, the "powers that be" decided it was best to re-equip troops with this lovely rendition of the "Overseas Cap" or "Sidecap" like many other nations had been wearing since WW1. The result was a "Bonnet de Police" style sidecap, often featuring vent holes like you see in the photos. By late 1941, troops had complained so much about the lack of functionality of the Bonetă that the Capelă was re-instated by 1942. You will see the Bonetă being worn throughout by rear troops, and even some frontline troops through the end of the war, and this style would be slightly modified and worn by Romanian forces through the Cold War.

These reproductions are made from 100% wool, and feature a 100% cotton linen lining, exactly like the originals. I can almost guarantee you won't find these reproduced anywhere else, so if you have been looking for one, or are putting together a Romanian Impression, it would be a good idea to snag one.

ORDERING: These are a pre-order item, and take approximately 12-16 weeks to get to you. Yes, that's a while, but these are all hand-made by a professional tailor using premium materials and require a lot of time to make correctly. They are 100% worth the wait, and often arrive sooner than the allotted time, but please allow for that amount of time.
